Freemasonry has always been religious in character, though it subscribes to no particular orthodoxy. In Anglo-American countries the membership consists of mostly white Protestants; some lodges have been accused of prejudice against nonwhites.

There are several ways to become a Freemason. If you don’t know anyone who is a member and that you can talk to, then your first step is to contact your nearest Lodge.
